The SGCI MEL Framework is an Online system created to support the science granting councils in Sub-Sahara Africa in data collection, analyzing, monitoring, training (individual scientists) and report on achievements of the program objectives. This system can be accessed from everywhere and serves 15 council Member Country secretariats. It has real time analytics component. How to use the system
The Science Granting Councils Initiative is a multi-funder initiative that aims to strengthen the capacities of 15 science granting councils in Sub-Saharan Africa in order to support research and evidence-based policies that will contribute to economic and social development. To effectively capture processes there is need to increase communication opportunities to engage with the private sector. Inorder to do that there are activities that build the relationship between these entities, for example increase in market/industry-focused materials that enlightens the private sector and other such players to identify what their role could be, and how they can engage and benefit from that engagement under the different SGC strategies. The Knowledge management indicators are cross cutting and are therefore used to link, national level KPIs with the SGC programming interventions.
